(⌥Space), screenshot hotkey (⌥⇧Space), and 8 small tools — built for a
weak local model on any OpenAI-compatible endpoint.What's in this release
- Streaming chat popover with tool activity lines + ctx counter
- Email triage (read-only, enforced at script level) → native notifications
- Tools: email list/read/search, web search/fetch, screenshot, open, notify
- Setup wizard — first launch: clone & build llama.cpp into
~/.llama,
pick a model preset (with total-RAM estimates: weights + KV cache for the
chosen context & quant), or point MacAssist at your own server - Configure Server window — model presets or custom, context slider,
KV-cache quant, live RAM estimate, save script, start/stop server
Requirements: macOS 14+, Apple Silicon. Built with Xcode Command Line
Tools + Rust. Note: native notifications require signing with an Apple
Development identity (this build is signed with one); ad-hoc re-signing
disables notifications on macOS 15 but everything else works.Install: unzip, then
open MacAssist.app. See the README for the
